This traditional desk-and-hutch set boasts convenient, built-in storage from top to bottom. Both pieces are crafted from durable ash hardwood solids and oak veneer finished in warm, rich oak. All drawers are constructed with dovetail joinery and ball-bearing extension guides for smooth opening and closing.
The desk includes two storage drawers on the right side, and the felt-lined top drawer contains a handy pencil tray. The locking file drawer offers a secure place for paperwork and documents and can accommodate both letter- and legal-size files. A pullout writing shelf above the drawers offers extra room to spread out and work. The knee drawer has a hinged, drop-front face and can be used as a conventional drawer or pulled out for use as a laptop or keyboard/mouse tray. There's also two electrical outlets and wiring access holes.
Instead of taking up valuable desktop space, your CPU fits neatly inside the cabinet located next to the storage drawers. The cabinet door opens to a fixed bottom shelf, an adjustable shelf, and a sliding back panel for wiring access and ventilation. You'll find another wiring access hole and ventilation slots on the inside end panel of the CPU storage area as well. At the base of the kneewell is a fixed shelf for books and bulky items.
The matching hutch features a dual-door cabinet that opens to an adjustable center shelf and one fixed bottom panel. The left side has a fixed shelf that serves as a display area or book storage. The shelf has a light mounted underneath to illuminate the desktop when you're working late into the night. The center area of the hutch is equipped with a full-length CD rack with dividers. Wiring access holes are located in the back panel to keep cord clutter to a minimum.

It's recommended that Riverside furniture be cleaned with a damp, clean dust cloth. Any kind of surface or finish may be cleaned using this method. A mild detergent may be applied, if necessary, for areas that will not clean with just a cloth. Avoid the use of oil-based polishes and direct-spray polishes that can cause a waxy build-up.
Placing hot items, such as coffee mugs or dinner plates on a piece of furniture can soften the finish. Condensation from cold objects or liquid spills will cause the finish to "bubble" and leave a milky-white discoloration. Never use fingernail polish remover over a wood finish because if it makes contact with the finish it will eat through it much like a paint or varnish remover exposing the wood underneath and demanding that the surface be refinished to repair the damage. The damage described above can be eliminated by the use of coasters, trivets, and common sense.
Always use a protective pad beneath lamps or accessories, and on writing surfaces. Do not place rubber or vinyl products on the surface as discoloration and/or staining may occur as a result.

The desk is beautiful. My only complaints are that the CD rack is not even and the desk arrived with a slice through the top of the box, where there was no foam and it is marked on the top of the hutch. Otherwise I am quite pleased.
