The Riverside Summit Workstation With Hutch in Black and Cherry adds contemporary style and drama to your home office. Constructed of poplar hardwood solids and birch veneers, this gorgeous desk and hutch have a lightly distressed two-tone finish in Madera cherry and Bridgewood black. The finish is a combination of wood finish and paint for a lush look that will add richness to your home. The desk and hutch feature drawers constructed with dovetail joinery, and the drawers and pullout trays are mounted on ball-bearing extension guides.
The left side of the desk provides a locking door that encloses two removable modular storage boxes that each have two fixed shelves and two small storage drawers. The CPU storage area behind the left cabinet door measures 18W x 26D inches, and the back panel offers a wire access hole for easy cord management. You will also find a pullout writing shelf, a small storage drawer, and a power control panel located in the area above the left-hand door. A large pullout shelf can be used as workspace or as a keyboard and mouse shelf.
The right side of the desk features a center storage drawer with a felt-lined bottom and pencil tray. Two storage drawers and a pullout writing shelf are located above the drawers. A locking file drawer accommodates both letter and legal file folders.
The hutch features two cabinet doors, each with one adjustable and one fixed shelf behind it. Two storage drawers and two small accessory drawers offer extra storage, and a center open display shelf is perfect for displaying awards or favorite items. It is recommended that Riverside furniture be cleaned with a damp, clean dust cloth. Any kind of surface or finish may be cleaned using this method. A mild detergent may be applied, if necessary, for areas that will not clean with just a cloth. Avoid the use of oil-based polishes and direct-spray polishes (cause a waxy build-up).
Placing hot items, such as coffee mugs or dinner plates on a piece of furniture can soften the finish. Condensation from cold objects or liquid spills will cause the finish to "bubble" and leave a milky-white discoloration. Never use fingernail polish remover over a wood finish because if it makes contact with the finish it will eat through it much like a paint or varnish remover exposing the wood underneath and demanding that the surface be refinished to repair the damage. The damage described above can be eliminated by the use of coasters, trivets, and common sense.
Always use a protective pad beneath lamps or accessories, and on writing surfaces. Do not place rubber or vinyl products on the surface as discoloration and/or staining may occur as a result.
