I am very pleased with the quailty and style but my husband who is very handy took 4 hrs. but it was clearly marked for assembling. He did add a pull out shelf below for my printer which makes it twice as functional for me as my den is small (7'X13') and I need to use this space efficiently. I am a bargain shopper but love decorating and knowing how much furniture is marked up and was extremely pleased that this was under $200. I love a quality bargains and got just that in this desk.

Assembly was much more difficult than I expected. About 4-6 hours. Bolts and screws were not labelled. I use the front drawer for the keyboard. That door is on hinges so it lies flat to use the keyboard. After day 2, the screws kept coming out from opening & closing the front panel. The front drawer panel kept falling off. Finally just left it off. The desk does look good and considering the low price, I do consider it a good value.

Comments about Bush - Stanford Computer Desk:
The desk actually really nice and my husband felt it was pretty easy to put together - nothing was missing or broken and it looks exactly like the picture. It is not a high end piece of furniture but at this price you cant go wrong with it.

Comments about Bush - Stanford Computer Desk:
Obtains most of its stuctural integity fom a piece of cardboard on the back. Very wobbily before placing on the cardboard. Would not transport well once assembled. Looks nice, but will probably not last long. You get what you pay for...

Comments about Bush - Stanford Computer Desk:
Overall a nice product, efficient design and relatively easy to assemble. You do need to allow a few hours to read imstructions and put it together. Directions could be a little more clear. Did have some missing screws for drawer pulls. The completed desk looks great and is a perfect fit for where it needed to go. Definately would recommend this piece to anyone.

Comments about Bush - Stanford Computer Desk:
In the last three weeks, I've put over 10 pieces of furniture, game tables etc together (we moved). I have NEVER experienced such a poorly designed, non-intuitive assemble with instructions that are a joke in my life.
First, the materials are mixture of particle board (very low quality) and a pressboard desktop that has a very cheesey veneer.
Second, the desktop itself weighs about 2x the entire weight of the table combined... so, when you do get the top on... it's top heavy and very wobbly.
The instructions have no words... only pictures that are not-intuitive. In fact, the assembly time, for me, was doubled simply trying to verify the picture and the "stock number" of the part.
The screws are very short, the pre-drilled holes relatively weak.
The piece is made cheap, it is NOT sturdy, and it is one of the poorest quality pieces for the price I've ever seen.
I figure this might last 6 months and instead will simply look for some $50 vintage desk at a second hand store.
The ultimate irony is that the instructions claim "The Bush Difference"..... Apparently, the difference is the bait and switch you receive after buying such a poor quality piece. AVOID!

Comments about Bush - Stanford Computer Desk:
This was a great buy, the desk is the perfect size for we're we needed it. The drawers slide out very smoothly. Love the fact that we can put the printer under the desk which eliminates a printer stand. It was a little difficult to put together.

Q1: Is the back of the desk finished?
A: If you are sitting at the desk and looking under the desk at the back side of the front of the desk, it is woodgrain. If you are standing in front of the desk the front panel of the desk is finished in antique black. This piece is made of a very durable high-density fiberboard.
